Description of the assignment

Actemium specialise in the bespoke design and fabrication of process related projects working to  and operating under BS EN1090 classifications. We are looking to appoint a competent MIG Welder / Pipe fitter to join our team.

Reporting directly to the Manufacturing/Works Manager, your duties will include:

 

  • Must have experience in working with thin wall stainless steel weld pipe.

  • Carry out the positioning of equipment and the installation of ancillary components along with the interconnecting pipework systems on our UK customer’s site.

  • Use general hand tools, cutting torches, grinders, etc, to cut materials and pipe sections to specification.

  • Welding/fabrication of pipework and steelwork, coded welder preferred (but not essential)

Profile

About you:

  • Time served welding on fabrications working with mild steel
  • Experienced in MIG welding with the ability to read engineering drawings
  • Travel to job sites or other fabrication shops 
  • Proven experience as a pipefitter welder
  • Able to work competently both within a team and as an individual contributor.
  • Customer focused and able to roll up sleeves and get involved in challenging projects.
  • Able to take ownership for projects and work to time limits.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Work in calm professional manner
  • Have a  Positive ‘’can do’’ attitude and proactive to identify and resolve problems.
  • Ability to develop friendly and professional customer focused relations with others.
  • Structural steel design working to EN1090 accreditation.
  • Pipework design including P&IDs & Weld Maps (nice to have)
  • able to provide highly polished finished work

 

 

 

 

Qualifications: (Desirable):

  • Time served apprentice
  • City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 or BTEC ONC equivalent qualification
  • NVQ Level 3 in fabrication & Welding / Plating & Welding
